Introduction

Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj is the 5th original Jagadguru today. In the past, only four saints have been acknowledged as original Jagadgurus. They are Jagadguru Shri Shankaracharya, Jagadguru Shri Ramanujacharya, Jagadguru Shri Nimbarkacharya and Jagadguru Shri Madhavacharya.

Jagadguru Shri Kripaluji's masterly reconciliation of all the scriptures and varying philosophies delivered in Sanskrit stupefied all the foremost scholars of Kashi Vidvat Parishat, Varanasi, India (a body of 500 topmost scholars of India who collectively represent the seat of spiritual learning). They were so impressed by His unsurpassable spiritual wisdom and loving Divine Personality that they

honored Him with special title of 'JAGADGURUTTAM' (Supreme amongst all Jagadgurus) and also declared Him as 'BHAKTI - YOG - RASAVATAR' (Descension of Divine Love and Bliss) on Jan 14, 1957.

At present there are eleven main religions in the world. They all appear to propagate contradictory views regarding the path towards the supreme goal of Happiness. In fact there are contradictions within each religion itself. Jagadguru Shri Kripaluji Maharaj reconciles all these apparently opposing views and expounds a universal path that respects all religions.

Philosophy - Key Points Meditation (Sadhana)

Can anyone say that he or she is happy? Can anyone say that his or her mind is at peace all the time? We live a mechanical life which is full of tensions, worries, panic and dissatisfaction. No one, even the richest man on earth, can claim that he/she is living a wholesome life. And even if one feels good sometimes, the feeling is short lived and fades away eventually. What are we missing? Is there something we can do to become happy, peaceful and wholesome? Can the quality of life be improved? Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj gives us simple and logical answers to these questions from the scriptures.

  • The soul is a power of the supreme God . God is unlimited happiness (Anand) . Just like a piece of earth when released, rushes towards the earth, we (souls) being a part of God want happiness regardless of our gender, location and economic condition. Getting an Everlasting Happiness is the only goal of every being .
  • All our miseries can disappear if we can know God .

The scriptures say that no one can know God. Now this is a problem. Does that mean that we can never be happy? Then how did the saints like Shri Shankaracharya, Guru Nanak Dev, Shri Tukaram, Shri Ram Krishna ParamHans, Meera Bai and Kabir Das know God?

The scriptures answer this question too. These saints were able to know God not by reading or researching, not by doing good deeds and not even by meditating. They were able to know God by the Grace of God. So whosoever is Graced upon by God Himself can know God.

Does God have a criteria to bestow His Grace? Why didn't we get His Grace? Shri Kripalu Ji says that if you have the hunger (curiosity) to know God, then God will Grace you with a teacher, also known as the Guru. A true Guru knows the scriptures (Shrotriya) and He has already received the unlimited Happiness (Brahmnishtha). You will learn from this Guru as to who you are, who is God, what is your relationship with God and how you will achieve your ultimate goal of Everlasting Happiness.

God's criteria is that He Graces those whose heart is clean slate or 100% pure. To clean the inner machinery, we should meditate (do Sadhana) the way the Guru has instructed us .

While the result is not in our hands , the meditation is. Shri Maharaj Ji says that meditation is the spiritual medicine. If done exactly the way Guru has instructed us, it will give us Shradha (faith), tolerance and deenata. Thus is the path of purification of our mind. Thus is the path of becoming worthy of the Almighty and the unlimited bliss.

To get the real essence of Shri Maharaj Ji's philosophy, one must read the words written and explained by Shri Maharaj Ji Himself in Prem Ras Sidhant .
